Bassett Healthcare Network, a progressive, academic health system in central New York and major teaching affiliate of Columbia University is seeking a full-time MD/DO for its Susquehanna Family Practice/Gender Wellness Center (QFP/GWC) (www.genderwellnesscenter.com); with the option to participate as a fellow in our one-year, New York State Department of Health Transgender Clinical Scholars Training Program (NYSDOH TCST).

Description

QFP/GWC has been offering high quality, evidence-based primary care in Oneonta since 1994. In 2007, we began embedding transgender and gender diverse (TGD) healthcare into our primary care practice. From 2016-2019, members of our interdisciplinary team received leadership training from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to create a rural-based center for TGD healthcare that provides gender affirming medical, mental health, surgical care, legal advocacy, training/education, and conducts community-based research. (https://www.intechopen.com/chapters/77220). We have served over 1500 TGD youth and adults in our family practice. Our fellows learn to address healthcare disparities for TGD people across the life span, making health care more accessible, sensitive, and effective.
