Job Summary

The Senior Director of Monetization (Business & Product Development) will function as the head of monetization. This role will be responsible for revenue growth and profitable generation ensuring a financially sustainable organization for years to come. The incumbent will also be responsible for the delivery, distribution, and realization of all products, services, and solutions that the IEEE SA brings to market. This includes overseeing the marketing function as well.

The Senior Director will be accountable for meeting organizational monetization goals and realizing new and monetizable opportunities. This position will also be responsible for managing people and budgets.

The Senior Director will be expected to deliver monthly status reports and ad hoc reports that accurately reflect the state of global revenues. The role would also include managing a healthy pipeline in and around intellectual property. The Senior Director will liaise across the IEEE to ensure opportunity coordination and realization. I will also work with Volunteer Partners to stage gate and deliver BoG opportunities where and when appropriate.

As a Leader in the IEEE SA Organization, the Senior Director will be expected to contribute actively to a positive and collaborative culture focused on innovation, collaboration, and accountability.

The position reports to the Managing Director of the IEEE-SA and manages approximately 4 to 6 direct reports.

Key Responsibilities


  • Identifies and develops new business opportunities.

  • Builds relationships with customers, suppliers, distributors, partners, and vendors.

  • Evaluates existing partnerships and sales efforts with an eye toward building on what works and changing what doesn’t.

  • Manages key client relationships and works to build new ones.

  • Expand the profile and reach of the company and its brands.

  • Leads sales, marketing, customer service, and client relationship management teams.

  • Develops and strengthens internal and external relationships, leading to increased lead generation and market share.

  • Builds cross-functional teams to guide and nourish sustainable, long-term growth.

  • Tracks emerging markets and trends.

  • Fosters and works to maintain an entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the company and across all teams and work functions.

  • Identifies and recommends new services.

  • Proposes and develops strategic partnerships.

  • It helps to shape the company’s long-term objectives and determine plans for how to meet them.

  • Researches and identifies new markets.

  • Provides advice on product development distribution, and promotion strategies.

  • Identifies sponsorship opportunities, including nonprofit engagement.

  • Builds and maintains relationships with vendors.

  • Conducts webinars and presentations to raise the brand or product profile.

  • Selects prospective vendors and negotiates contracts.

  • Travels to vendor locations, distribution centers, and other locations.

  • Fulfills requests for proposals (RFPs) from potential partners and customers.

  • Helps direct the development of customer-facing web platforms and digital experiences.

Education


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Req

  • Master's or other advanced degree Administration and Masters in Science in a Technology field; University education in technology or economics Pref


Work Experience


  • 15-20 years experience in developing lead generating partnerships as well as in M&A is desirable; Prior management experience is required; experience managing people & matrix teams in a highly collaborative environment Req

  • A proven leader at all levels of an organization with the ability to drive positive brand or net positive results in complex and diversified business environments Req

  • Proven experience in building or developing a brand /effective business strategy in an unknown or ambiguous space (e.g. tech and/or geographically/digitally) with minimal direction Req
