Good Chemistry grows, breeds and sells premium, small-batch cannabis. The company was founded over 22 years ago in San Francisco as a medical cannabis co-op and since that time, we have expanded our independently-owned operations throughout Colorado, Massachusetts and Nevada. Pay Rate: $18.50-$22.42 per hour commensurate with experience

Job Summary: The Packager is primarily responsible for the efficient processing and packaging of marijuana flower for our retails stores. Production employees are typically expected to work a schedule consisting of four 10-hour or five 8-hour shifts per week.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for the efficient processing and packaging of marijuana flower for our retail stores
Work in a timely manner and strive to increase productivity
Adapt to various strains, styles and types of marijuana being trimmed and packaged, adjusting techniques to maintain a steady pace and quality
Other duties and projects as assigned by management, both in MA & CO


Job Requirements (Education and Experience)

Highschool diploma or equivalent
This job involves cannabis and requires that you be at least 21 years old. Do you meet the age requirement?


Essential Job Functions

Must qualify for the use of a full-face respirator
Must be able to complete repetitive fine motor movements
Must be able to seize, hold, grasp, turn, open, close, lift, or otherwise work with your hand(s) to manipulate packaging, products, and pruning equipment repetitively throughout a 10hr shift.
Must be able to work in an environment with high noise and high light intensity
Must be comfortable using provided PPE such as masks, hair nets, beard covers, respirators, boot covers, non-slip shoes, and Tyvek suits as necessary.


Qualifications

Must pass a background check in order to obtain an MED badge through Marijuana Enforcement Division.
Proficient in G Suite and Apple OS
Ability to work effectively across departments
Enthusiasm for cannabis industry
Excellent oral and written communication, prioritization and problem-solving skills
Experience in building new teams and proliferating company culture
Proven attention to detail and organization skills
Must be able to maintain accuracy and consistency in trimming and packaging
Must be able to follow basic instructions
Must possess basic knowledge of cannabis weights, industry products, strain classifications, genetics, and compliance
Must be able to take constructive criticism from managers to maintain quality standards and production goals
Must show up on time, ready to work and maintain a standard of personal hygiene for processing marijuana flower
Able to focus and stay on task for long periods of time
Able to stand for long periods of time
Able to lift up to 20 lbs


Additional Requirements:

Must be able to lift, carry, pull, push, move up to 50 pounds (100 pounds with mechanical assistance)
Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stooping, kneeling, crouching and reaching; and must be able to use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch, frequently/constantly to complete tasks
Must be able to handle plant matter daily, and be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment ("PPE") as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection)

The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds (100 pounds with mechanical assistance). Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Workplace Environment: Allergen Warnings - The employee may be exposed to dust, pollen and plant pathogens. All jobs require daily use of provided PPE such as masks, hair nets, bear covers, respirators, boot covers, hearing protection, aprons, gloves, Tyvek suits, and goggles/eye protection, as necessary. The employee must be able to work in spaces with exposure to loud noises, including but not limited to, air compressors, packaging equipment, alarms, and other machinery. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to an environment suited for the plants' optimal performance and not necessarily the employee's comfort.
