Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Young Adult Peer Mentor in the IHBTC program at Behavioral Health Network!
The Young Adult Peer Mentor is an outreach position, working directly with the youth/young adult that ensures youth's voice and strategies for engagement in services are implemented. In addition, provides consultation to the Intensive Home-Based Therapeutic Care team about youth guided treatment
Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the Intensive Home-Based Therapeutic Care program with the following:
Transports youth to community activities.
Provides respite care in the home.
Engages youth in activities aligned with their treatment plan goals.
Teaches youth how to navigate community systems.
Fosters empowerment and connects youth to support and self-help groups.
Teaches youth how to identify formal and community-based resources.
Competently interacts with families and individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Ensures high-quality and timely completion of service-related paperwork.
Works effectively as a team member.
Uses supervision and training to improve job performance and knowledge.
Demonstrates problem-solving skills in various conditions.
Builds strength-based relationships with youth.

What are we looking for in a Young Adult Peer Mentor?
Qualifications/ Requirements
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of two (2) years' Experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth (preferred).
Must have a valid Massachusetts driver's license and automobile available during working hours.
Must have familiarity with internet, word processing and email systems.
Personal experience as consumer in child serving mental health systems.
