Position OverviewThe Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology invites qualified Ph.D. biologists to submit applications, which will be reviewed by individual faculty members and placed in a pool for consideration for research positions in all fields and related areas. Duties include: Conduct research in collaboration with Ecology & Evolutionary Biology faculty member(s); disseminate research results to the scientific community through presentations locally, nationally and internationally as appropriate, and through scientific publications; assist with supervision of graduate and undergraduate students with their research; Provide leadership to students and train them on proper procedures for all instruments and safety regulations in the laboratory setting; maintain an up-to-date file of current literature, referencing pertinent to the ongoing research project.
Job Description40% Conduct research in the scientific area of a faculty member in the Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and its affiliated researchers.
30% Prepare and present updates on ongoing research, provide written reports on research progress, participate in group meetings and present seminars to scientific community when asked.
20% Assist with supervision of graduate and undergraduate students with their research. Provide leadership to students and train them on proper procedures for all instruments and safety regulations in the laboratory setting.
10% Maintain an up-to-date file of current literature, referencing pertinent to the ongoing research project.Required QualificationsEvaluation of the following requirements will be made through (1) records of accomplishment entered into CVs, (2) descriptions of research and educational experiences provided in application materials, (3) references, and/or (4) publications.
