Intake & Assessment Specialist

The Intake and Assessment Specialist is responsible for facilitating new and returning Adult Education program enrollment and assessments, including performing general office duties. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy. Under the Adult Education Director's direct supervision, the paraprofessional assists adult learners in the Adult Education program. The paraprofessional provides administrative support to the Adult Education program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus one year of experience in a specialized or related area applicable to work performed, OR an Associate's Degree can be substituted for one year of experience in a related area or applicable work wetting. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB-RELATED EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE

SUPERVISION RECEIVED
The Director will provide supervision when on site.Other times, this position will be supervised by a senior paraprofessional or faculty member.

·Ability to establish and maintain filing systems
DECISION MAKING
The Director of Adult Education will oversee program-related decision making to assist in decision making thought matrices.All Adult Education staff are encouraged to collaborate with their colleagues for brainstorming options for decision making.The Director will oversee all final decisions.
ANALYTICAL ABILITY / PROBLEM SOLVING
·Ability to analyze documents to determine compliance with rules, regulations, and procedures

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
