Job Description

Job Summary

Develops and implements vendor relations strategy to efficiently and effectively obtain products and services required by Stewart from third party suppliers at the best total cost of ownership. Through effective oversight and engagement of people, processes and supplier relationships, vendor relations creates a competitive advantage for Stewart through innovation, cost management, quality and process improvements, asset optimization, risk mitigation, social responsibility and sustainability. Oversees third-party vendor relationships to ensure contractual obligations are met and the most profitable service is achieved.


Job Responsibilities

  • Manages and coordinates organization, branch, production, functional or department operation/business strategies and activities

  • Participates in developing, interpreting and implementing policies and procedures for the assigned functional area/department

  • Assigns or delegates responsibilities for specified work or functional activities and ensures attainment of operating goals

  • Serves as a resource in providing work direction and assistance in resolving issues as they arise

  • Supervises the daily activities of support or team members

  • Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities for direct reports

  • Problem solving is guided by policies and procedures; receives guidance and oversight from manager

  • Applies operational business practices and coordinates with other closely related areas to improve efficiency

  • Impacts the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team and its contribution to the department

  • Uses judgment to identify, troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems

  • Explains information, conveys performance expectations and handles sensitive issues

  • Has formal supervisory responsibilities; coordinates resources and sets daily priorities of direct reports to meet operational objectives

  • Performs all other duties as assigned by management


Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred

Experience
  • Typically requires 6+ years of related work experience
