Role Summary

Contributes to all parts of the UX design process. Develop a deep understanding of user needs and retirement trends to advocate for new product solutions. Contributes to the development of best practices within their group. Leads collaborative sessions for design reviews and feature assessment. Assesses and provides feedback on designs of other team members. Accountable for improvements in their own designs and artifacts. Capable of leading a small team of developers and UX engineers for a specific project or task. Ability to influence key project stakeholders to design best practice approaches. Leverages global design standards and coordinates with Design Community members to establish unified user experiences. Consistently measures and reports on the health and impact of our experiences.

  • Increasing fluency in financial services, and expanding knowledge of the team

  • Builds strong network of business stakeholders

  • Able to collaborate directly with business stakeholders

  • Understands the business environment and how TRP compares to the marketplace/ competitors

  • Decisions show a focus on current and future business priorities, together with fiscal responsibility

  • Can articulate business needs and translate them into digital product solutions

  • Ability to convey complex design solutions in easy to understand terms with non-design specialists

  • Participates in user research practices

  • Leveraging research insights to drive design decisions

  • Uses design artefacts i.e. experience blueprints to help orient business stakeholders to actionable insights

  • Takes control of complex or vague problems and steps through them in a rational way

  • Makes tactical versus strategic trade-offs

  • Flexible in their thinking; able to evolve a solution when additional information or ideas are presented

  • Stays current with many best-of-breed tools and methodologies

  • Produces design output across the product lifecycle

  • Fluent in multiple approaches to design including design thinking, wireframing, prototyping

  •  Able to articulate methodology and design decisions based on core technical principles

  • Experience developing designs accommodating multiple user persona and usage contexts

  • Understands and fluent in Agile methodologies. Capable of leading design in sprint planning, story grooming, and retrospectives

  • Understands user interaction patterns and affordances, follows user-centered design principles, and stays current with web and mobile trends and best practices.

  • Collaborate closely with development partners, to deliver effective user experiences

  • Demonstrates adaptable approach, informed by learnings from development partners and other firm wide inputs as work progresses. May provide guidance to junior team members.

Qualifications:

Required:


  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND

  • 5+ years of total relevant work experience

Preferred:


  • 5 years of editorial/digital media experience. Familiarity with best practices for web writing, including “microcopy.”  

  • Experience in content strategy with a focus on planning, developing, and managing powerful, content-led user experiences in the financial industry.  

  • Experience working with the following technology: Figma, Airtable, and Zeplin.

FINRA Requirements

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for full time remote work.

Regional Requirements:

Base salary range:

$91,500 - $156,500 USD for the locations of: Colorado and the State of Washington

$114,500 - $195,000 USD for the locations of: California and New York

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
