The University of Kansas - Research Engineers Senior in Lawrence, Kansas Utilizes data science to analyze public policy and public health programs such as TANF, early childhood education, and community health behavioral programs. REQUIRES: Master's in Public Policy, Economics w/Public Health or related field w/quantitative research. 4 yrs. research or work experience in area related to public policy or public health (Doctorate in listed fields & 1 yr. research or work experience in area related to public policy or public health also accepted). 2 yrs exp. w/following: developing data analytics reports, products using Excel, at least one following: R, STATA, or Python; implementing business intelligence tools, dashboards or interactive reports using Tableau, R Shiny, or other relevant BI language; conducting econometric, statistical analysis or data science on high frequency administrative data or survey data to research & generate insights that affect public & social policy; liaising & working w/government agencies to establish data governance protocols for data-driven policymaking.
