Description
The Department of Industrial Engineering at Clemson University invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow position in healthcare human factors. This post-doctoral opportunity will enable the fellow to carry out collaborative research on a systems-approach on the design and implementation of AI-based clinical decision support systems. The fellow will be mentored by Dr. Jackie Cha (https://cecas.clemson.edu/echo), with an interdisciplinary team at Clemson University with Dr. Shyam Ranganathan and Dr. Divya Srinivasan and clinicians at Prisma Health.
This full-time post-doctoral fellow will last 1-2 years depending on the start date and continued success of the fellow. The fellow will work with the research team to achieve the project goals and developed an independent research project. Fellows are required to participate in the dissemination of the research and will receive support for attendance at national research conferences to present research results. Fellows are eligible to participate in various educational and training activities at Clemson University and Prisma Health, including participating in a NIH Accelerator workshop. Salary is aligned with the NIH postdoctoral pay.
Qualifications
Eligible candidates will have a PhD in human factors (industrial engineering/ psychology/ behavioral science), health information technology, technology interaction design, or related research domain. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. A record of research accomplishments and publication of collaborative research in top academic journals is preferred. Experience in healthcare human factors research, including working with clinicians, clinical staff and patients, is preferred.
