Description


The Department of Genetics and Biochemistry at Clemson University invites applications for one full-time, 9-month lecturer position. The primary responsibility is to teach GEN 3000 Fundamental Genetics, a large undergraduate non-majors genetics course. Additional responsibilities may include teaching in GEN 3020 Molecular and General Genetics (for majors). There may also be additional opportunities to teach undergraduate biochemistry or at the graduate level.


The start date is Fall 2024, although a 2025 start date is possible. These are renewable, non-tenure track positions. Salary level will be commensurate with education and experience and a benefits package is included.

The department offers B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Genetics and in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and provides a first-rate environment for engaging students and colleagues in collaborative research and teaching efforts spanning genetics and biochemistry.

Qualifications


A Ph.D. in a relevant discipline is required and broad teaching experience at the college level is preferred. Knowledge of bioinformatics and computer languages and/or experience teaching in an online degree program would also be a plus.
