Wor-Wic Community College is accepting applications for an experienced instructor to teach advanced welding part-time (8 hours per week) in the Continuing Education and Workforce Development division. Classes run two evenings per week from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. for 10 weeks in the fall and spring and summer terms. Each cohort consists of 80 instructional hours and a maximum class size of 10 students. Course includes instruction on the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Section IX code using 2” Schedule 80 carbon steel pipe in both Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) 6G positions.
Requirements include five years of relevant full-time industry experience; working knowledge of proper pipe welding procedures; proficiency with SMAW and GTAW welding in the 6G position as well as proper pipe prepping and fitting techniques; the ability to manage a class of up to 10 students in the classroom and the workshop; and excellent mathematical and measuring skills. Preference will be given to candidates with management and/or teaching experience. This position does not include benefits.
