Intelligent Waves, delivers innovative technology solutions to enable a more secure nation has a need for a Technical Writer, pending award, to support a critical DoD customer. The Technical Writer will provide contractor services for a US Courts contract.

Location: This Technical Writer is based in National Capital Region (NCR).

Travel: Ability to travel up to 30% of the time and will be reimbursed based on IW policy, GSA Per Diem rates and DoD Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) as required.

Security Clearance: This Technical Writer must be a United States Citizen and be able to obtain and hold a Public Trust.

Employees are required to follow all company and customer site COVID-19 protocols.



Responsibilities

  • Researches, analyses, designs, develops, writes, edits, and publishes documentation for Technical applications, products, training and services.
  • Should possess facility with technology, ability to write clearly, talent in showing ideas graphically, patience in problem solving/troubleshooting and ability to interact with SME.
  • Will also have experience in coordinating entire projects and managing workflow and teams.
  • Conducts and/or assists in documentation planning, including preparing plans, defining audience, performing task analysis, recommending deliverable formats, and establishing project schedules.
  • Responsible for writing operational, instructional, maintenance, engineering processes and/or specifications for paper, multimedia, or web-based publication that conforms to corporate style guide and quality assurance standards.
  • Conducts tests and solicits feedback to ensure the clarity, completeness, technical accuracy, and quality of the documents produced.
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications

1. Minimum of 7 years writing executive-level briefing materials.
2. Minimum of 10 years working with cyber security information (offensive security, security engineering,
etc.).
3. Minimum of 10 years serving as voice of record for grammar, punctuation, and use of the English language, with emphasis on producing clear, direct prose.
4. Bachelors degree in either Information Technology- or communication-related field.

5. Must be able to use a variety of word processing, spreadsheet, graphics and scheduling tools.

6. Must have experience in being able to gather and convert data into a written narrative.

7. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Microsoft Visio

  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends if needed to complete proposals as required.
