JOB DESCRIPTION



Wood is currently recruiting for a Human Machine Interface (HMI) Community of Practice Manager in Houston, TX to be responsible for day-to-day operation of Human Machine Interface (HMI) functional practice ensuring leading edge HMI design by continuously aiming to improve our knowledge-base and training our engineers to shorten the learning curve of our personnel across our Business Units in the Americas to effectively and efficiently serve our clients' needs.



RESPONSIBILITIES



RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Manage department HMI design Training Program.

  • Train experienced personnel in best practices and high performing HMI trends.

  • Facilitate Business Development personnel with High Performance HMI Design Philosophies.

  • Providing Technical Support to Senior Automation Staff for all phases of automation projects, Front-end engineering (FEED) through detail design, configuration, implementation, startup, and commissioning.

  • Supporting, gathering, and organizing design data from piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and instrument databases, developing control and safety system design and configuration databases, design and implementation of Operator graphics (HMI design), assisting with configuration and testing various types of control and safety systems under the direction of Senior-level Leadership.

Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.


Employing entity: Wood Group USA, Inc.


Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days a week.


Domestic travel required up to 10%.



QUALIFICATIONS



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS



Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, or a related field, and 6 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate related work experience.


Of the required experience, must have 6 years of experience in each of the following:


  • Emerson DeltaV;

  • High Performance HMI; and

  • PlantPAx.

Of the required experience, must have 4 years of experience in Archestra.


Certification: Professional Certificate of Competency in Allen Bradley Controllogix/Logix 5000 PLC Platforms
