Job Description:

Serves as chair of Medical Staff, formulates and administers medical care quality control standards, and coordinates with the Director of OU Health Services regarding matters relating to ancillary departments.



  • Provides acute and continuing comprehensive individual health care at the Goddard university health care center for students, faculty, staff, and their dependents. 

  • Directs activities of physicians engaged in rendering medical and surgical treatments to patients. Supervises nurses and medical assistant supervisor. Director of Lab and X-ray.

  • Plans and coordinates policies and procedures of the medical staff. Directs schedules of Staff Physicians. Serves as chair of Medical Staff meetings and various subcommittees. Formats and administers medical care quality control standards. 

  • Performs additional testing or other procedures as required. Conducts examinations, prescribes treatment, performs procedures. Administers and prescribes medication to patients.

  • Coordinates with the Director of OU Health Services regarding matters relating to ancillary departments. Answers inquiries and examines complaints of a medical nature. Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste and drugs.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience: Doctorate Degree.



  • 60 months experience as a primary care physician.

  • Must be able to supervise staff and communicate directions and expectations effectively.

  • Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives.

  • Strong initiative to solve problems.

  • Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff.

  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Ability to speak, read and write clear, concise English.


Certifications:



  • Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Oklahoma - Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy

  • Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) License

  • Oklahoma State Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (OBNDD) License

  • Board Certification in an applicable specialty

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation - BLS or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - ACLS

Supervision: Goddard Health Center Chief of Staff - supervises physicians, mid-level providers, registered nurses, and Medical Assistant supervisor.
