LA & FCCH Coordinator at University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma

Job Description:

As an Event Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in planning, organizing, and executing various events. Your responsibilities include planning events, managing timelines, budgets, and deliverables. You will also handle vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and ensure compliance. Additionally, you will oversee venue selection, coordinate logistics (including transportation, accommodation, and catering), maintain client communication, manage guest interactions, and conduct post-event evaluations. Required Education: Bachelor's degree, AND: 



  • 12 months experience in event planning and coordination, outreach or public relations.


Equivalency Substitution:  Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 60 months experience.


Skills:



  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines      

  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information       

  • Ability to accurately read and understand written materials and instructions       

  • Customer service skills      

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)       

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing

  • Ability to work well independently and collaboratively


Certifications:



  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License in order to travel to events, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire date


Advertised Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to engage in repetitive motions.

  • Ability to communicate verbally in order to express oneself and exchange detailed information with others.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods.

  • Requires contact with other departments and university officials.  

  • Required to travel for event setup and coordination.
