Job Title: DevOps Engineer, E-Commerce

Reports to: Global DevOps Manager

Location: Flagstaff, AZ

The Role

Deckers is looking for a DevOps Engineer to support our teams building scalable technology solutions in support of our global E-Commerce business. The DevOps Engineer role will work closely with decision-makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost- effective DevOps technology solutions that will help promote business growth and better internal customer service.

Your Impact

The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to:


  • Support E-Commerce Global DevOps infra structure providing support to Deckers Global structure during regional working hours.

  • Maintain and administer E-Commerce SDLC standards on related environments including cloud based, on-premise solutions, and PAAS/SAAS applications software.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve connectivity, application, hardware, software, or other network and application problems, providing fixes to applicable systems.

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement application and network security measures to protect Decker's data, software, and hardware.

  • Configure, monitor, and maintain Ecomm applications including: Fastly CDN, Atlassian product suite, Gitlab, SalesForce Commerce Cloud, Vercel, DNS, SSL, Datadog and Splunk.

  • Monitor E-commerce network and application performance using current data mining solutions utilizing API's and synthetic testing to provide data and analysis, configuration of alarms and escalation paths.

  • Use Cloud based DevOps platforms, tools, and skillsets such as AWS, RUST, & Terraform to develop pipelines and improve applications best practices like security.

  • Analyze website and RUM performance data, building dashboards and analytics to monitor and support E-Commerce team SLA's.

  • Recommend changes to improve processes, systems, and ecommerce designs, determine hardware and software requirements related to such changes.

  • Setup and train new users on Decker's enterprise systems use.

  • Coordinate with vendors and company personnel to support tools and users.

  • Perform routine application startup and shutdown procedures maintaining change control/log records.

  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation schedule for Global E-Commerce support.

  • Creating self-service documentation for projects, users, and team members, i.e. FAQ documents or technical documentation and diagraming for IT OPS department.

Who You Are


  • Proficiency in analyzing HTTP headers, troubleshooting website and network traffic flows.

  • Proficiency with supporting modern desktop operating systems including both Windows and Mac OS.

  • Familiarity with ITIL work-flow and processes, SDLC, CICD and other DevOps processes.

  • Familiarity with security best practices, VPN's, SSO, PCI, PII, Identity Management and MFA.

  • Familiarity with E-Commerce concepts such as Content Delivery Networks, Agile development processes, Web dev platforms including SalesForce

  • Good Interpersonal Skills, team-working attitude, takes initiative and very proactive in solving problems and providing best solutions.

  • Resolving escalated tickets related to E-Commerce performance or delivery problems and creating Root Cause Analysis (RCA) document on severe issues.

  • Bonus: Knowledge and experience on DevOps concepts, tools and technologies like Fastly, Gitlab, WAF Security, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, RUST, Javascript, VSphere.

We'd love to hear from people with


  • College Degree in Information Technology Systems or related fields including: Information Systems Design, Computer Science, Mathematics.

  • 2-3 years working as a System Administrator or DevOps engineer supporting software/application development teams

  • Experience working with Windows Server, Mac, and or Linux/Unix environments.

  • Proficiency with one of the following - Java, PowerShell, JSON scripting, other programming or experience
