WQED Multimedia is seeking a leader who will materially grow major gifts and planned giving revenue while leading and inspiring development team members to their full potential. We are expecting this position to be a "player-coach" who defines cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies while also managing your own portfolio of donors ($1,200+). You will nurture relationships with donors using professional prospect management techniques and will work collaboratively and in coordination with development colleagues and senior leadership to provide donors with an outstanding philanthropic experience. You are a strategic thinker and planner who is eager for the challenge of growing the major gifts and planned giving programs from its current state to a thriving program utilizing your proven track record of pipeline development and program growth. This position reports to the Head of Marketing and Membership and will oversee a major gifts officer and a mid-level giving manager who are eager to learn and expand their skillsets.
This is a hybrid role that's expected to commute to and contribute from WQED's offices in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh at least 3 days per week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans, utilizing a moves management approach to engage prospects and donors resulting in strategic and knowledgeable asks
Strategize and implement planned giving initiatives to steward current planned giving donors and identify, cultivate, and solicit planned giving prospects
Create and maintain reports and use this data to drive decision making around prioritizing donors and analyzing potential revenue increases over the entire portfolio
Oversee stewardship of a high-quality donor experience through developing individual relationships, correspondence, mailings, acknowledgements, and other meaningful opportunities to engage with the organization
Create customized briefings and proposals
Guide the mid-level giving manager to implement a pipeline strategy that moves donors up the giving ladder
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
Minimum five (5) years' experience in non-profit development with at least two (2) years specifically as a major gifts officer
Demonstrated experience identifying new major donors and managing comprehensive moves management plans with quantifiable results through multiple strategies and collaborative efforts
Proven success in managing portfolios of 100+ prospects and netting new major gifts
Highly organized, creative, ability to prioritize, strong interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail and aesthetics
Minimum two (2) years' experience managing people with a demonstrated ability to motivate, inspire and meet goals
Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of CRM database navigation
