We are currently looking for a dedicated Payroll Manager to join our HR team and oversee our payroll operations to ensure they are smooth, accurate, and compliant.
Position Overview:
The Payroll Manager will oversee the payroll function for all employees at Apex Site Solutions. This role requires strong attention to detail, extensive knowledge of payroll practices, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. The Payroll Manager will work closely with HR and Finance to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, compliance with all regulatory requirements, and the continuous improvement of payroll systems and processes.
Job Duties:
Managing Payroll
Implements maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
Manages prevailing wage jobs by setting them up internally, ensuring all wages are set up correctly, and reports all necessary documentation to all relevant parties.
Reconciliations
Reconciles the General Ledger for all employee benefit accounts (medical, dental, vision, employee loans, etc.)
Training/Admin
Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures
Performs other duties as assigned
Schedules and leads refresher training sessions for all applicable employees on payroll policies at least every six months
Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in payroll management, with a strong understanding of payroll practices, regulations, and systems.
Proficiency in:
- DIR Reporting
- LCP Tracker
- OnePoint
- ViewPoint Spectrum.
- MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations, tax laws, prevailing wage, and compliance requirements.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
