Finance Director, Enabling Functions at Zoetis in Parsippany-Troy Hills, New Jersey

Role Description

• Individual will report to the VP Finance, VMRD and Enabling Functions and serve as the Finance Lead for certain enabling and commercial functions, including but not limited to ZTD, Global Customer Experience, and Genetics.


• Individual will be relied upon to contribute and provide insight into the long-term strategic direction of these functions, participating on some of their respective Leadership Teams.


• Individual will be ultimately responsible for the complete and accurate accounting of all enabling functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and planning, variance analysis, and business driver understanding and conveyance to senior leadership.


• Individual will be responsible for managing continuous improvement to our financial systems and processes to ensure we keep pace with the evolution of our business and have the appropriate level of foresight in data via KPI's and other key metrics.


• Individual will lead a team of 4 colleagues, fostering a learning and empowered environment, providing diverse experiences, and fostering business partnering opportunities.

Responsibilities:



Implement a sound financial process and guarantee the quality, accuracy and timeliness of the Operating Plan, forecasts, monthly results and other financial submissions via partnering with respective Enabling Functions teams.


Ensure an effective internal control environment. Support the planning and execution of local internal and external audit work in partnership with Corp Controllers.


Present business results, financial projections and financial analyses to senior management. Participate in business reviews and represent the financial implications of the business strategy to global leadership.


Serve as the financial advisor to global leadership on key decisions and business strategies. Monitor, track and report business performance with proactive identification of issues, opportunities and challenges. Ensure that the business utilizes its resources in the most efficient manner.


Serve as the business partner for Wafaa Mamilli and her respective leadership teams, with a strong emphasis on ZTD give the materiality, complexity, and commercial components.


Support and manage major change initiatives as necessary, including business development activities, integration of new businesses and migration to new financial systems and processes.


Drive resource optimization through effective working capital and operating expense management.


Interact as necessary with different internal and external stakeholders. Be able to clearly articulate Zoetis' position on key matters and issues.


Ensure continual Finance acumen education to global leadership, especially on critical accounting matters including expense recognition, capital spend and related depreciation, and unique accounting considerations where applicable.


Identify Risks and Opportunities, provide insight, support and advice on decision-making to achieve short-term and long-term financial objectives. Conduct analysis that unlock value and enhance the decision-making process across the enabling functions.


Lead a team of 4 colleagues, with particular focus on driving independence and accountability, providing varied experiences for continued learning and development, and fostering opportunities for growth outside of core areas.


Serve as the balance sheet certifier for LE7982, and other opportunities across enabling functions to drive efficiency.



Qualifications (Training, Education & Prior Experience):




Education


University degree in appropriate discipline (i.e. accounting, finance or economics)


Professional accounting designation, Certified Public Accountant or Master in Business Administration is considered an asset.



Experience



7-10 years post qualification experience


Experience in the Animal Health industry is considered an asset


Prior experience leading change in a dynamic business environment


Previous people management experience strongly preferred

Strong analytical background with strategic thinking capabilities and attention to detail


Solid understanding of accounting, internal controls, financial systems and processes


Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management both verbally and in writing


Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
