What You Will Do



The Senior Manager, Sourcing - EMS/Electronics manages the sourcing of finished goods from Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs), Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and Contract Manufacturers. This role involves developing and implementing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with sourced electronic products and new product introductions, and a strong background in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiations. This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to managing sourcing activities. Key responsibilities include:


Sourcing Strategy Development


  • Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for finished goods.

  • Identify and evaluate potential EMS partners.

  • Conduct market research to stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and competitive pricing.

New Product Introduction


  • Coordinate sourcing activities for new product introductions, ensuring that all suppliers are aligned with project timelines, quality standards, and cost targets.

  • Work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure that suppliers are involved early in the development process to optimize manufacturability and cost.

  • Manage the transition from prototype to full-scale production, ensuring that suppliers are prepared to meet volume demands and quality expectations.

  • Ensure that all sourced components and EMS partners meet required quality standards, regulatory compliance, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria.

Supplier Management


  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure consistent quality and reliability.

  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers.

  • Monitor supplier performance through regular evaluations and audits.

Procurement Operations


  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process for electronic finished goods, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.

  • Coordinate with internal teams, including product development, engineering, and quality assurance, to ensure alignment on specifications and requirements.

  • Resolve any issues related to supplier performance, delivery schedules, or quality concerns.

Cost Management


  • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies to achieve budgetary goals.

  • Analyze cost structures and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.

  • Track and report on cost savings achieved through strategic sourcing activities.

Risk Management


  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Coordinate bill of material (BOM) scrubs to ensure components' long-term availability, sustainability, and supportability throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions in the supply chain.

Team Leadership


  • Lead and mentor a team of sourcing professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental objectives.

  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.


What You Will Bring



  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Sourcing and Procurement.

  • Proven track record of managing sourced finished goods from ODMs, OEMs, or Contract Manufacturers.

  • Experience working in New Product Introductions as project or Sourcing lead.

  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in sourcing and procurement software and tools.

  • Travel may be required to visit suppliers and manufacturing sites.
