During the autumn, winter, and spring quarters of the 2022-23 academic year, the Humanities Collegiate Division and the Department of Germanic Studies may have part-time teaching opportunities in various courses of the German Language curriculum.


Minimum qualifications are a master's degree or equivalent in German or a related field, superior proficiency in German according to ACTFL guidelines, and at least one year of experience teaching German at the college or post-secondary level. Preference will be given to applicants with a Ph.D. or equivalent in German and/or an advanced degree in second language pedagogy/acquisition. Applicants should have experience carrying out all aspects of classroom instruction, including the development or revision of course syllabi, assignments and exams. Lecturers are also expected to work effectively with peers, coordinators, and to respond to student needs.


Depending on the curricular needs of the department, the successful candidate may teach between one and four courses per academic year. In 2022-23, the minimum per-course salary is $7,319. This position is not benefits eligible.
