JOB TITLE: IT Support Specialist

POSITION NUMBER: 2409-S73108-ITS-002

POSITION LOCATION: Atlanta, GA, USA

ANTICIPATED START DATE: Three - six weeks after candidate identification

TRAVEL: As required to fulfill the responsibilities of the position


ASRT, Inc. provides scientific, information management, management consulting, bioinformatics, and administrative program support to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other Federal and private sector clients. The successful candidate will be a full-time employee of ASRT, Inc. and will be assigned to the Division of Core Laboratory Services and Response (DCLSR), CDC Biorepository (CBR), in Lawrenceville, GA.


SCOPE OF WORK

The IT Support Specialist will provide technical support within the CBR providing advanced expertise in managing, maintaining, and administer CBR systems.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide experienced staff with advanced knowledge, expertise, and experience to support the management, maintenance, and administration of CBR systems (e.g., user access roles, adding data and content, providing new user assistance, and addressing requests for assistance).
  • Assist with software support and maintenance, including planning and implementing updates required for functionality or compliance, providing expertise for input on improving systems software, assisting with data migrations, and implementing necessary software and equipment upgrades.
  • Develop and assist in maintaining a LIMS data dictionary (e.g., name of the field, why it is used, how it is formatted, limitations to entry, examples of entry, standardized entry options, picklists).
  • Ensure activities (e.g., validation, UAT) align with associated with DCLSR, CBR, quality management systems, CDC and CBR policies, procedures, guidance, and CAP accreditation requirements. Assist in developing or updating CBR user guides, methods, and job aids. Maintain complete, detailed records of all work performed.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of user guides and training programs.
Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field and 2+ years experience or,
  • Minimum 6+ years' experience providing IT support

Required:

  • Expertise in managing and maintaining complex systems, preferably within a Clinical or Research environment.
  • Experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) or similar data management systems.
  • Strong background in software updates, system upgrades, relational database and data migrations.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and quality management systems, particularly in healthcare or research settings.
  • Experience in developing user guides, training materials, and providing staff training is a plus.

Desirable:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Comfort working in a fast paced and highly interdisciplinary environment.
  • Experience working with a diverse interdisciplinary team.

Language Skills:

  • The candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
