Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Counselor-Case Manager in the Greenfield Substance Use Recovery programs at Behavioral Health Network!
Behavioral Health Network (BHN) is partnering with Greenfield Community College (GCC) and MassHire Franklin Hampshire to train individuals as Counselor-Case Managers. This program offers a structured series of trainings through GCC along with on-site training at a BHN site for 30 hours/week for a 6-week period of time, concluding by obtaining full-time employment as a Counselor-Case Manager at BHN.
Program attendees are paid for their time for completing both classes and on-the-job training, which would take approximately 18 hours of the 30 hour/wk training schedule. Trainings are to be completed fully in-person both on-site and at GCC's Greenfield, MA campus and attendance is required for 100% of the trainings for successful completion. There will be no cost to you for any of the training programs or certifications obtained during this program.
The program is set to begin on September 16, 2024.
Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the Greenfield programs with the following:
Completing assessments based on the range of addiction, dual diagnosis and methadone issues, and other special needs of individuals using knowledge of biophysical & psychosocial dimensions.
Collaborating with individuals served to develop a treatment plan based on their needs, and modifying this, as needed.
Counseling individuals individually and in daily group sessions to teach coping and recovery skills and facilitate retention in treatment.
Providing information regarding alcohol and drug abuse, harm reduction and mental illness and available resources to individuals and groups.
Connecting individuals served with sensitivity toward with referrals for and resolution of legal issues, housing options, medication compliance, and economic, employment, and continuing care needs.
Encouraging individual's responsibility and participation in aftercare planning.
Providing transportation to individuals to pick up prescriptions or for appointments related to aftercare for medical reasons, as needed.
Completing all documentation, including care plans and progress notes, according to established expectations.
Maintaining strict confidentiality of individuals served information at all times in accordance with 42 CFR.
Who are we?
BHN's Greenfield, MA campus includes designated substance abuse disorder treatment centers, which provide acute treatment services (ATS) and clinical stabilization services (CSS) as well as additional services to support recovery. These varied residential rehabilitation services help adults working to overcome drug and alcohol addiction and meet co-occurring mental health and behavioral health needs.

What are we looking for in a Counselor-Case Manager?
High School Diploma or GED equivalent and/or CAC, CADAC, or LADC (required); Bachelor's Degree in related field (preferred).
At least 2 years of experience in substance abuse or behavioral health counseling (required).
Ability to understand, empathize, and work with an addicted, dually diagnosed and/or methadone-maintained population.
Demonstrated ability to approach individuals served in a sensitive and therapeutic manner.
Experience providing case management and/or counseling services as part of a clinical team to patients in a treatment setting (preferred).
Valid Driver's License (required).
Vehicle for use during all working hours should be registered and inspected in accordance with 540 CMR 4.00 (required).
