Job Description:

PURPOSE:

To provide assistance and support for Merchandisers, Sr. Merchandisers, and Sales and Promotions Leads in pursuit of department and category objectives. To complete a variety of specialized duties that support the consumer marketing operations and support developing sales-driving efforts as well as weekly ads for retail. The duties in the Sales and Promotions Coordinator job family focus on tasks and/or work that are unique to the department and require knowledge and skills that are beyond what is needed for general office work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Proof ad planners for assigned retailer groups.
  • Responsible for sending ad planner corrections to merchandising staff and follow through.
  • Compile scan information from ad planner to spreadsheets, and post to SVHarbor for assigned retail groups.
  • Filing, faxing, copying, mailing, phones, and email as well as various related assignments.
  • Resolve all internal and external customer requests and concerns while maintaining a high level of professionalism and service.
  • Post weekly ad planners to SVHarbor and E-Merch for assigned groups.
  • Compile summary reports for key accounts as needed for Sales & Promotions Coordinator Sr. and Manager.
  • Responsible for version changes in DPP for assigned ad groups, at the direction of assigned Sales and Promotions Coordinator Sr. and/or Managers.
  • Retail and department communications to include correspondence with customer service, vendors, and other UNFI departments as directed.
  • Provide Feedback to the department on process improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain new and discontinued Ad Group member lists.
  • Arrange and make notifications of appointments.
  • Answers telephone calls, tactfully handles inquiries and transfers to the appropriate party.
  • Assembles and analyzes information, and prepares reports, manuals, and agendas.
  • Perform general office duties and other tasks as assigned.
  • Resolve all internal and external customer requests and concerns while maintaining a high level of professionalism and service.
  • Reviews information/data and makes decisions within well-defined guidelines, parameters, and instructions.
  • Examines and prioritizes documents to determine work to be completed or the best course of action.
  • Sorts, files, and maintains invoices, receipts, contracts, or other special department documents.
  • Provide Feedback to the department on process improvement opportunities.
  • Compiles minor statistical data.
  • Makes and checks routine one and two-step math calculations.
  • Completes keyboarding projects such as preparing correspondence and mailings.
  • Checks own work for accuracy.
  • Coordinates special programs and/or events.
  • Cross Cross-trained across multiple Desks.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education/ Certifications:

  • Associates degree in business/marketing desired or equivalent experience.

Experience:
  • 2-3 years related experience in business/marketing.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient in buying systems & DPP.
  • Basic advertising and grocery product knowledge preferred.
  • Grocery retail experience beneficial.
  • Intermediate keyboarding proficiency, and computer skills; spreadsheets.
  • Math skills at a specific level (i.e. one step: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division two-step percent calculations, or more advanced.)
  • Reading, writing, math, and communication skills at a proficient level.
  • Intermediate skills in MS Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Ability to follow verbal or written instructions.
  • Intermediate keyboarding proficiency.
  • Ability to stay focused and maintain accuracy on repetitive tasks.
  • Strong detail orientation.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively by telephone and provide a high level of customer service.
  • Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/ DEMANDS:

  • Some travel may be required.
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods at a desk or computer terminal.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment during the normal workday.
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in the completion of job duties.
