The Tennessee Department of Transportation is currently hiring a full time TDOT Mechanic Senior for our District Garage in Hamblen County. The reporting location for this position is in Morristown, TN.
Responsibilities
Responsible for supervising technical and skilled vehicle and equipment mechanic work of average difficulty and performs related technical work as required
Supervises a mechanic crew in the TDOT garage and perform technical diagnosis and repairs of average difficulty
Oversees procurement for garage, monitors purchase orders and approves requisitions
Maintains relationships by communicating and working with internal and external business partners to facilitate vehicle and equipment repairs, purchase necessary items, and providing assistance.
Qualifications
High School Diploma
4 years of full-time repair and/or maintenance of engines or related mechanical components, including but not limited to, transmissions, ignitions and brakes
Additional college coursework from an accredited technical or trade school in automotive technology, auto mechanics, on a month for month basis, up to 24 months
