Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Network Engineer in Austin, TX.

Duties Include:

• Deploy, administer, and troubleshoot High Availability Datacenter Infrastructure - Fortinet Firewalls and Fortinet/Cisco switching as per best practices


• Network Engineer will quickly troubleshoot to isolate and solve problems and adhere to best practices


• Provide L2 & L3 support; Monitor and act on trouble alerts and warnings from our monitoring system, communicate and investigate promptly, and escalate when necessary


• Work in concert with a team or independently to manage project milestones and deliverables, with or without direct supervision/guidance as needed


• Perform occasional after-hours work and/or on weekends as needed to support business needs; Attend and participate in departmental meetings


• Coordinate and perform system changes with strict adherence to our Change Control policy


• Ensure tickets are created, assigned, and updated appropriately with accurate time entries and resolution details of impending changes and/or agreed outages


• Effectively communicate step-by-step instructions with non-technical personnel acting as remote hands to install and maintain infrastructure


• Creation of BOMs (Bill of Materials), obtaining quotes from vendors where necessary - for the purpose of solution costing for new implementations or upgrades


• As a Network Engineer, you will create and maintain documentation including inventory information and network diagrams


• Manage multiple concurrent tasks and function within a fast-paced setting


• Provide mentoring and support to junior engineers and peers

REQUIREMENTS:

Technical Requirements:
Network Administration:

• Fortinet switches, access points, and firewalls, including SDWAN and FortiLink


• Experience with Cisco routers, switches, and wireless technologies


• Experience with network monitoring and management tools


• Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), and network troubleshooting techniques

Desired, but not required:
VMware vSphere Enterprise/AWS/Azure:

• Large Scale Clusters, HA/DRS


• Distributed Switches


• vCenter Enhanced linked mode


• Update Manager, PowerCLI


• VM (Virtual Machines), VCSA, ESXi troubleshooting and maintenance

Hands-on Server & Storage Experience:

• Dell/HPE/Cisco UCS - Rack Servers, Blade Systems


• SAN Storage - Dell Storage, Nimble


• iSCSI Networking and Configuration

Windows Server Administration:

• Active Directory


• Group Policies


• DHCP, DNS, File servers


• IIS administration


• Core server and PowerShell based administration
• Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) certification is highly desirable


• Experience in enterprise security, such as zero-trust networks, network access control, next- generation firewalls, and related


• Packet sniffers/Wireshark


• Advanced troubleshooting of VMware components - VCSA, ESXi, VDS, HA (High Availability), DRS


• VMware VCA-VCP-DCV, VCAP-DCV Perform installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Windows Servers of various roles (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, File, IIS, Scheduled Tasks, Services)


• Microsoft Active Directory, Domain services


• Domain migrations/consolidations


• Deploying and managing workloads in AWS, Azure, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure


• Infrastructure as code, complex network designs for multi-region cloud implementations, and specific techniques used with OCI, AWS, and Azure networks

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
