Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking an onsite Senior Category Leader in Oakland, CA. This role is Hybrid.

Team Overview:

• This team manages suppliers for software, professional services, IT Telecom and Hardware


• This team is involved in all transactions $250M and above, manage about $1.2B in spend


• This team will manage all services, including staff aug contracting, professional services/managed service or project-based contracts, etc.)


• This person will be involved in any of the above contracts, as well as new or renewals for software contracts (under $1M)

Summary:
This person will get involved with quality check on SOW or software proposal/service order. When the manager submits a Sourcing engagement form - gatekeeper looks at that and decides who that should be assigned to. You will review direct contracts - are there any recommendations to make (fixed fee vs. time and materials, etc.). You will also work with an IT Leader on the submitted contract, etc.

Duties:

• Develops and manages one or more sourcing spend categories and manages all Tier 1 contracts associated with the category


• Leads cross-functional team through strategic sourcing process and development/execution of negotiation strategies for low to medium complexity spend categories


• Conducts and documents market research and supplier risk analysis to verify the financial health of existing and potential suppliers


• Develops and sustains mutually beneficial strategic relationships with tier 1 and 2 suppliers


• Develops strategic category plans to optimize cost savings, service excellence, diversity spend and total cost of ownership for the categories


• Effectively influences LOBs, including senior leadership, to achieve understanding, acceptance, and commitment of sourcing strategies


• Works with Line of Business (LOB) to develop, source and negotiate major contracts


• Plays a key role in Supplier Relationship Management/Scorecard process

REQUIREMENTS:

• 10+ years of experience in sourcing/procurement roles


• Experience negotiating IT services and software contracts and renewals


• Experience with negotiating and processing IT service contracts


• Experience with Ariba


• Experience with Power BI for reporting


• Experience working cross functionally with different departments (i.e. risk, insurance, business units, etc.)


• Strong communication skills - can present contract details to leadership as needed


• Experience with MS Office, MS Teams, Excel, PowerPoint


• Ability to work independently with limited oversight

Nice to Have:

• Master's degree in Business Administration or job-related discipline or equivalent experience


• ISM-Institute for Supply Management CPSM-Certified Professional in Supply Management certification


• LSS-Lean Six Sigma Certification


• Experience with Company and/or regulated industry experience


• Knowledge of database and information systems - for example SCADA, EMS, OMT, OIS, SAP, ERP, COSO, Teradata, COBIT, Question Mark

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
