Overview

Lutron is seeking an experienced Health, Safety, and Environment Leader out of our Ashland, VA manufacturing facility. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) is below our company target. You will be implementing HSE procedures, ensuring regulatory compliance within the facility, and aligning local activities to our corporate standards. Additionally, you will be accountable for the continued improvement of actions and infrastructure that support our HSE objectives. Your impact will be enhancing our established, positive, proactive safety culture at this location.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the TRIR under 0.5
• Conduct the incidents / accidents investigations and lead the implementation of corrective actions
• Assure compliance is maintained for all environmental requirements (local and federal)
• Provide and control the PPE for all workstations
• Share information and lessons learned with other Lutron locations
• Attend and present at meetings to help maintain an active safety culture in the facility
• Investigate and document in IRIS any first aid, incidents and accidents
• Lead / Prepare / Correct findings from the annual HSE audit to minimize the findings and comply with the criteria
• Lead a proactive approach to safety culture by being part of the safety team, leading the safety captains, and engaging with personnel on all shifts and in all areas
• Provide HSE guidance on changes at the operation
• Lead the plant for HSE emergency situations
• Prepare information and action plans for incident and accidents on the weekly incidents meeting with all Lutron facilities
• Lead the team to implement corrective actions as a result of incidents / accidents
• Prepare presentations for weekly metrics meeting & monthly corporate meetings
• Attend environmental audits from different government agencies such as EPA and OSHA

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Degree in Safety / Environmental field preferred
• Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.00 for all degrees earned
• 5+ years of experience in an HSE role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software suite
• Active and high sense of urgency with limited oversight
• Experience in HSE audits: OSHA / EPA a plus
