RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Junior Project Accountant in Arlington, VA.

Summary:
The Project Accountant will be responsible for the financial management and reporting of various projects, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Junior Project Accountant will prepare project budgets and monitor project costs


• Track and forecast project financials such as revenue, costs, and margin


• Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate financial reporting


• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial data for each project


• Review and approve supplier invoices related to a project


• As a Junior Project Accountant, you will prepare monthly billing for projects


• Monitor project progress, identify variances, and reforecast project costs as necessary


• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and project contracts


• Prepare monthly financial reports for management

REQUIREMENTS:

• 4+ years of accounting/analysis experience either in non-profit or Gov Con industry


• Prior experience in project management and financial forecasting is crucial for this role


• Strong understanding of accounting principles


• Excellent numerical proficiency


• Need strong GL accounting foundation and budgeting, forecasting some financial analysis experience; Project accounting will align expenses to match budgets


• Need strong Excel - pivots, lookups


• Strong attention to detail


• Desire to learn and do the project accounting work


• Ability to analyze complex financial reports


• Ability to communicate across levels and with people in various countries that have different communication styles


• Deltek Costpoint experience preferred but not required

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
