Job Description:
Responsibilities:
Design Development: Assist in the development of architectural designs, including drafting, modeling, and rendering, under the supervision of senior architects.
Documentation: Prepare detailed construction documents, specifications, and drawings using CAD and BIM software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
Project Coordination: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure project goals are met in terms of design, functionality, and budget.
Research: Conduct research on building codes, materials, technologies, and environmental impact to inform design decisions.
Client Interaction: Participate in client meetings, presenting design concepts, and gathering feedback to refine projects.
Site Visits: Attend construction sites to review progress, ensure compliance with design specifications, and address any issues that arise.
Sustainability: Incorporate sustainable design principles into projects, aiming for certifications like LEED or WELL Building where applicable.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, with a strong academic record.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience in an architectural firm or related field. Internships or co-op experience are also considered.
Skills:
Proficiency in architectural software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).
Strong understanding of architectural principles, building codes, and construction practices.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with clients and team members.
Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a team environment.
Creative problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.
Licensing: Registration as an architect is not required but working towards licensure (ARE) is expected.
