Job Summary




Group 1001 is embarking on a multi-year journey to transform its operations team to support the firm's vision of becoming a next-gen financial services company. Its mission is to provide an exceptional customer journey that aligns with our brand and values, establishes human connection, and exceeds customer expectations by delivering timely, personalized solutions while leveraging modern technology.


This role is a key partner to the COO and a member of the operational leadership team who will oversee the annuity operations for two of Group 1001's established franchises: Delaware Life Insurance Company (DLIC) and Clear Spring Life and Annuity Company (CSLAC). This individual will oversee a large team that includes the following functions: the mailroom, the contact centers, new business processing, in-force processing of financial and non-financial transactions, and claims. These teams are responsible for administering and managing fixed, indexed and variable annuity products.


The individual will be responsible for building teams efficiently within a fast-growing organization. It will be important to identify, build and develop a team of strong leaders. This individual will be expected to ensure that the customer experience is at a level that differentiates us from our competition, creating a competitive advantage, while maintaining an appropriate budget. This role will need to prioritize and champion projects that will support this goal.


This role's success will be based on the following:


  • Building a scalable operation that is resilient and can handle the sales goals of the various organizations while ensuring it is efficient in its use of resources.


  • Ensuring the annuity operations team has the appropriate leaders in place for each function and that they are empowered to drive results.


  • Developing and promoting a positive working relationship with a diverse group of stake holders including, IT, legal, compliance, marketing, distribution, and product to ensure continuity and success across the organization.


  • Managing personnel including team and individual performance (goals, metrics, individual development plans, and general performance management), individual workload management, and capacity.




Main Accountabilities:


  • Ensure that the customer experience is a differentiator for the organization as it aligns with the overarching strategic objectives.


  • Create efficiencies across all aspects of operations with an eye on scalability.


  • Develop a strong leadership team.


  • Ensure service level metrics are within standards and teams are dynamically resourced to ensure they are met.


  • Planning for resources and others needs given the expected/planned volume levels.


  • Lead effort to build an effective training and development plan for a growing organization.


  • Utilize cost benefit analysis to determine which projects will offer the most benefit to the company and our customers.


  • Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, procedures, and technologies to improve and streamline administrative processes and use of resources.


  • Coordinate with multiple stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment of departmental decision and project plans with the organization's goals.


  • Develop success measures and meaningful KPI's for annuity operations and associated teams.


  • Ensure that the teams are operating within all state and federal regulations pertaining to insurance products.


  • Coordinate closely with the distribution team and set clear expectations.


  • Maintain understanding of emerging technologies and trends in operations management.






Qualifications




Education and Experience


  • Bachelor's or Graduate Degree


  • 10+ years of leading, managing and running annuity operations for an insurance carrier including experience running call centers and processing teams.


  • Experience leading and building out multiple cross functional teams.


  • Experience developing future leaders.


  • Experience with annuity distribution channels and expectations within the marketplace.




Skills


  • Possess strong analytical skills and the ability to perform cost benefit analyses on complex projects.


  • Strong annuity product knowledge, expertise with administrative platforms, and the ability to multitask.




  • Understanding of a broad range of insurance products and services.


  • Adept at both verbal and written communications with the ability to communicate with a diverse group of stakeholders from various business areas.


  • Understanding of state and federal regulations pertaining to annuities.


  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills and ability to think creatively and strategically.


  • Demonstrated expertise in financial management, including budgeting, resource allocation, and long-term planning.


  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.


  • Possess an ownership mindset with an attitude that there are no tasks or problems beneath you.


  • Ability to drive critical goals under ambiguity and constraints demonstrating initiative.


  • Experience with setting strategic direction. You'll understand the company's mission, influence strategic objectives, and execute toward measurable goals.


  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
