Description: Our client is currently seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer to lead their DevOps migration and unification efforts involving transitioning and consolidating development and operations practices to streamline workflows, improve collaboration, and enhance efficiency. This will includes:



  • Migrating to Cloud Platforms: Moving applications and infrastructure to cloud services like Azure, or AWS Cloud to leverage scalability, flexibility, and cost-efficiency.


  • Unifying Tooling and Processes: Standardizing tools and processes across teams to ensure consistency, such as using a single CI/CD pipeline, version control system, and monitoring tools.


  • Automating Workflows: Implementing automation for building, testing, and deploying applications to reduce manual effort and increase reliability.


  • Enhancing Security: Integrating security practices into the DevOps pipeline (DevSecOps) to ensure continuous security monitoring and compliance.

This job will have the following responsibilities:
  • Lead the engineering and support for tools and processes that enhance Application Development, Testing, and CI/CD capabilities.

  • Develop and advance the capability roadmap for platforms and services that enable automation, robust testing, and a 'shift left' security approach for application code and infrastructure pipelines.

  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and Application Teams to understand enterprise needs and promote the use of CI/CD pipelines and automation in the Software Development Lifecycle.

  • Define, implement, and support the target state architecture of DevOps platform tooling for multiple delivery teams across various development stacks.

  • Partner with Cloud Architecture and Solution Delivery teams to strategize and plan for application and pipeline modernization with a "cloud-first" approach.

  • Establish standards and best practices for SCM, CI/CD pipelines, test automation, security scanning automation, vulnerability management, and delivery (containers, PaaS, etc.).

  • Work with Enterprise Architecture, QA, and Security teams to analyze new and emerging trends in DevOps and Development Architecture, ensuring standards remain current and relevant.

  • Guide internal application teams on standards and best practices to streamline their development processes in evolving DevOps/Cloud technologies.

  • Facilitate the evaluation and selection of software product standards and services within the DevOps and Development Architecture domain.

  • Administer cloud-based Azure DevOps Services.

  • Mentor team members on DevOps best practices and standards.

  • Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to optimize development and deployment processes.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • 10+ years of related IT experience, with 5+ years in application development and experience in building and managing automation using DevOps/DevSecOps platforms and tooling.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, system analysis, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of administration and support of Azure DevOps Services, including repositories, Pipelines, Artifacts, and work items.

  • Deep understanding and experience in designing and implementing modern CI/CD pipelines, including YAML, security scanning (SAST, DAST, SCA), containerized deployments, and automated testing capabilities (unit tests, regression tests, etc.).

  • Proficiency in Git, including branching strategies and pull request best practices.

  • Experience in designing and deploying integration applications into public cloud services or iPaaS-based providers (e.g., MuleSoft, Azure, AWS).

  • Demonstrated experience in technologies such as Python, FastAPI, Typescript, Node.js, Angular, React, Java, and .Net.

  • Strong understanding of strategic and emerging technology trends and their practical application to new and evolving business and operating models.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop content for and communicate with Application Development and Infrastructure Engineering teams.

  • Objective mindset with an 'enterprise first' approach, making decisions based on data, analysis, and POC results.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Experience delivering solutions across multiple cloud-based solutions, including Azure and AWS, and deploying to iPaaS solutions such as MuleSoft.

  • Familiarity with tools and technologies such as Atlassian Confluence, SonarQube, LucidChart, Ansible, Terraform, and Kubernetes.

  • Experience in the Banking industry is a plus.
