Purpose/Introduction Chevron Phillips is currently seeking an Instrument/Electrical Reliability Engineer to join the Reliability Team for the Golden Triangle Polymers facility located in Orange, TX. This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your experience and be part of a team contributing to the design, startup, and operation of a new plant from the ground up.Initially, this position will be more project focused ensuring the equipment is properly commissioned, and ready to support a safe, orderly, and timely start-up of the facility. Following startup, the job functions will transition to a more traditional reliability role characterized by normal plant operations.

This position will be assigned to the project location in Orange, TX and will transition to ongoing operations following commissioning and startup with an expected commitment though stable startup operations. #HPCP

Responsibilities
  • Monitor operational dependability by performing data analysis
  • Participate in HAZOP/LOPA reviews as required
  • Assist in the review of lessons learnedduring the project
  • Resolve and plan for obsolescence issues concerning the facilities instrumentation, electrical, and controls systems
  • Design and execute smaller maintenance/reliability projects including modification and/or addition to facilities DCS, PLC, field instrumentation and control, motor control systems, and process analytical systems
  • Develop maintenance and reliability programs, procedures, and guidelines
  • Develop, monitor and present findings around KPI'S within reliability performanceto continuously improve the reliability of the facility
  • Optimize reliability work processes to achieve sustainable equipment performance improvement
  • Support continuous improvement of the facility's mechanical integrity program by developingnew and reviewing existing PMs
Responsibilities (continued)
  • Understand and interpretindustry codes toaddress non-standard technical issues
  • LeadRCA (Root Cause Analysis) associated with complex systems andequipment-related failures
  • Monitor craft and contractor equipment installation practices andprocedures to ensure compliance with project specifications, relevant codes, and supplier requirements
  • Monitor pre-commissioning/commissioning activities of instrument and electrical equipment
  • Provideinstrument and electrical technical support to Operations and Maintenance teams
  • Utilizeprocess simulation software to troubleshoot and evaluate designs
  • ReviewPreventative Maintenance plans for instrument and electrical equipment and recommend changes in procedures and policies
  • Develop reliability plans, preventative maintenance programs, and repair specifications to minimize recurring performance problems on complex equipment
  • Work with corporate SMEs to develop company electrical and instrumentation asset strategies and implement at the facility
  • Serve as I&E subject matter expert resource for moderately complex projects and outages
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and at least5 years of Instrument/Electrical Engineering experience
  • Ability to multi-task, organizework, and meet the facilities work schedules
  • Strongcommunication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SAP S4
  • Proficient in use of Meridium APM
  • Root cause analysis training and experience as a facilitator
  • Experience with Electrical Safe Work Practices(NFPA 70E)
  • Experience developing hardware, software, functional, and user specifications for I/E systems and associated components
  • Experience providing field supportand participatingin check out, commissioning and startup
