CobbFendleyis seeking a HR Generalist who is confident working in a fast-paced environment servicing employees in different locations with a strong desire to research best practices and create practical processes while executing daily operations.



The successful candidate’s most important qualifications include:


  • 3-5 years work experience as an HR Generalist or equivalent role

  • Associate, or higher, degree in human resources or in process of obtaining required; this may be substituted with 8 years of professional Human Resources administrative experience

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations; including a thorough understanding of Texas, Florida, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Kentucky, Idaho, Ohio, and Washington

  • Experience working in a professional AEC environment preferred

  • Experience working with 700+ employees in multiple states preferred

  • Experience working with Federal Contractor organizations preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills with an ability to influence

  • Excellent organizational skills with an orientation towards standardizing processes

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to juggle competing priorities and delegate when appropriate

  • High level of respect for confidential information

  • High level of motivation and desire to take initiative

  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems; experience with WorkForce Now ADP and Deltek VantagePoint knowledge preferred

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software





  • Responsibilities:



    The HR Generalist will assist with all areas of Human Resources including recruiting, pre-employment and onboarding, benefits, leaves of absence, performance management, training, and more.

  • Involvement in, and at times take a leading role, in the development and implementation of new policies, procedures, and best practices to meet the Company’s expectations in coordination with the HR Director.

  • Maintain knowledge of best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, benefits, and employment law.

  • Works closely with HR Director, management, and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.

  • Assists with recruiting efforts including but not limited to requisitions, offer letters, career fairs, summer internship program, etc.

  • Assist with the pre-employment process including but not limited to background screenings, education and employment verification, motor vehicle records, clinical testing verifications, adverse action, and communication to candidates and management.

  • Assist with various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending and health saving accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), ESOP, and wellness benefits including new hire enrollments, open enrollment, and terminations.

  • Assist with leave of absence including FMLA, workers compensation, and other leaves.

  • Assist with employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.

  • Assists management with performance concerns, disciplinary action and conflict management issues.

  • Assist with conducting exit interviews, summarizes findings, and discusses trends and concerns with senior management.

  • Assist with training and development including compliance, learning management system, creating content and hosting trainings, etc.

  • Assist with federal compliance including equal employment opportunity and affirmative action programs.

  • Assist with the maintenance of confidential personnel and medical files, including data entry. Makes photocopies; mails, scans, and emails documents; processes mail and performs other clerical functions.

  • Participate in activities to develop knowledge of work environment, including culture, business objectives, goals, operations, and work challenges.

  • Collaborate with professionals and clients to increase your industry knowledge. Maintain a professional attitude and fulfill responsibilities with integrity consistent with industry standards.

  • Physical Requirements:



    • Standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time

    • Mobility within the office including movement between floors and workstations

    • Repeated motions (e.g. typing, reaching, bending, lifting, and carrying)

    • Communication with other employees and clients through instant message, email, phone, teleconference, or in-person




    Environmental Factors:



    • Most work is performed in a professional office environment. Some trips to client offices and job sites will be required

    • Extended use of electronic devices (e.g., computers, printers, copiers, scanners, plotters, and telephones)

    • Use of cutting tools and equipment (e.g., plotting equipment, rotary paper cutter)

    • User of company required PPE (personal protective equipment) as required in office


    EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM CST/local time zone.


    This position may include the need for overtime hours.
