Purpose of Job:



The Manager, Supply Network is responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end process of product transitions within the organization, ensuring that systems, processes, and people are set up for successful product transitions. This role involves coordinating with various departments such as Sales, Marketing, Procurement, and Logistics to ensure seamless product launches, phase-outs, and transitions.



Job Components:



Transition Planning:


  • Develop and execute comprehensive transition plans for new product introductions, product discontinuations, and product modifications.


  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on transition timelines, inventory strategies, and supply chain impacts.


  • Own the time-phased transition functionality within SAP IBP to ensure demand is properly mapped at a low level of granularity to drive accuracy in ordering and long-range supply plans.




Inventory Allocation:


  • Oversee inventory levels to ensure that constrained parts are available to meet production schedules without overstocking.


  • Manage the allocation of constrained parts to appropriate National Accounts based on priority and demand.




Project Management:


  • Lead project teams to manage product transitions, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.


  • Utilize expertise and leadership skills to direct staff and to resolve issues to ensure project goals and requirements are met.


  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure smooth transitions.


  • Represent Supply Chain Planning in the Sourcing Strategy Project and provide relevant feedback to Senior Management.




Communication and Coordination:


  • Act as the primary point of contact for all product transition activities.


  • Facilitate regular meetings with stakeholders to provide updates, gather feedback, and address any issues or concerns.


  • Communicate transition plans and status updates to relevant teams and Senior Management.


  • Represent the Supply Chain Planning function within the commercialization governance process and track that actions needed are completed on time.




Data Analysis and Reporting:


  • Analyze sales forecasts, inventory levels, and supply to ensure optimal product availability during transitions.


  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to product transitions and provide regular reports to management.




Continuous Improvement:


  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in product transition planning and execution.


  • Implement best practices and standardized procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of product transitions.




Inventory Management:


  • Work closely with Inventory Management Teams to ensure appropriate stock levels during transitions.


  • Develop strategies to minimize excess and obsolete inventory resulting from product transitions.




Customer Focus:


  • Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service Teams to understand customer needs and ensure minimal disruption during product transitions.


  • Address any customer concerns related to product availability and transition timelines.





Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, project management, or a related role.


  • Proven experience managing product transitions or similar projects within a manufacturing or distribution environment.


  • People leadership experience preferred with a track record of developing and motivating teams.


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to think logically and practically.


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting complex concepts to diverse audiences.


  • Proficient in project management tools and software.


  • Previous experience with advanced planning tools (SAP IBP, APO, etc.) preferred.


  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.


  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive consensus.


  • Ability to develop and execute long-term transition strategies.


  • Strong attention to detail to manage complex projects and data.


  • Able to adapt to changing priorities and unforeseen challenges.
