Ideal Candidate:
Ideal candidate has strong attention to detail and understands the procurement process for the DOD (Department of Defense) industry.
As the Procurement Executive you would be responsible for identifying, sourcing and ordering all needed components for each project. We adhere to strict traceability guidelines. You will be responsible for creating accurate POs based on received quotes and procure vendors to source needed materials for each project.
Responsibilities:
Lead purchasing and order management activities to drive operational effectiveness
Ensure supplier and purchase order accuracy of master data in ERP and supplier portal and update/change data/information as required; resolve supply disruption issues
Conduct standard material cost reviews, cost variance/change analytics and execute action plans for cost management; update material cost standards and variances in ERP
Create accurate POs based on received quotes
Seek out and procure vendors
Interact with suppliers
Liaison with other company departments including accounting, manufacturing, and operations
Track status of orders
Maintain purchasing policy and ensure all purchases adhere to that policy
Job Skills:
Strong working understanding of purchase orders
Ability to read and understand contracts
Knowledge and understanding of governmental flowdowns, FAR, DFARS
Experience with DPAS (Defense Priorities Allocation System)
Purchasing experience within the manufacturing industry
Epicor experience preferred but not required
Strong understanding of budgets and ability to stay within budgets when sourcing supplies
Proficient in MS office Suite
Strong attention to detail
Ability to read blueprints preferred
Understand Bill of Materials
Cost-analysis skills
Critical thinking skills
Collaborative teamwork skills
Solid time-management skills to meet deadlines
Job Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen or "US Person" in accordance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
5+ years of work experience in defense procurement
Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required
Proven experience interacting with customers directly in a presentation or technical reporting capacity.
