About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Data Engineer who will support applications that are used by Wells Fargo's 270,000+ employees, over 1 million external job seekers, and more than 4,000 HR professionals. This role will be responsible for supporting the Human Resources Data Warehouse.

The Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group provides technology solutions and support for Risk, Audit, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Corporate Properties, and Stakeholder Relations business lines. In addition, EFT provides unique technology solutions and innovation for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Enterprise Data Management. This combined portfolio of applications and tools are continually engineered to meet the challenges of stability, security, scalability, and speed.

Human Resources Information Technology (HRIT) team provides technology support for team member focused applications and processes, including payroll, benefits, learning and recruiting.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead work to create a semantic model against our analytic and distribution data products
  • Perform data analysis and modelling tasks within a data warehouse environment.
  • Participate in planning for migration of current on-prem environment to Cloud
  • Review and analyze complex software enhancement initiatives for business, operational or technical improvements that require in depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors
  • Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted data engineering situations requiring understanding of software package options and programming language and compliance requirements that influence and lead Technology to meet deliverables and drive organizational change
  • Strategically collaborate and consult with internal partners to resolve highly risky data engineering challenges
  • Actively participant in Data Product Council in continued curation and maturation of our data products
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+years of experience in data modelling within a data warehouse environment
  • 3+ years of managing and/or working with semantic models
  • 1+ years of Cloud experience with data migrations to Azure or Google clouds
  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Power BI
Desired Qualifications:
  • Oracle PL/SQL Experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Purview
  • Experience working in an Agile Team
  • Experience with Human Resources data
  • Ability to solve complex logic and database performance problems
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Work quickly and independently to meet required sprint objectives
