Summary:

Zapata Technology is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Automation Engineer (DevOps), for a remote position in Augusta, GA or Sierra Vista, AZ.

Job functions:

  • Automate security testing and monitoring using tools like Selenium and security-specific frameworks such as SAST and DAST tools, ensuring continuous security validation throughout the development process.
  • Provide technical and administrative direction for personnel performing software development and security tasks.
  • Ensure that software products align with secure coding standards, compliance requirements, and design concepts.
  • Review work products for correctness, adherence to security best practices, and progress according to schedules.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager and/or Security Assurance Manager to resolve issues and ensure compliance with user and security requirements.
  • Make recommendations for approval of secure system deployments as needed. Prepare milestone reports and presentations on security implementations to stakeholders, subordinates, and end-user representatives.
  • Develop and execute security-focused test plans, test cases, and scripts to ensure the software meets security, quality, and functionality requirements.
  • Identify, log, and track security vulnerabilities and bugs in bug-tracking systems like Jira, integrating security tools such as OWASP ZAP or SonarQube to address security risks.
  • Collaborate with developers, security teams, and product teams to ensure secure development practices, identify risks, and prioritize security in the software delivery pipeline.
  • Perform security testing, including functional, regression, integration, performance, and penetration testing, to identify vulnerabilities in software applications.
  • Analyze security test results and provide detailed vulnerability reports with actionable solutions to project and security teams.
  • Create and maintain security and testing documentation, including secure coding guidelines, security test plans, test scripts, and vulnerability reports.
  • Ensure software meets security, regulatory, and quality standards, adhering to best practices such as OWASP, NIST, and other applicable security frameworks.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on security vulnerabilities and implement secure remediation strategies to fix bugs and address potential exploits.
  • Work closely with development and operations teams throughout all phases of the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) to integrate security controls and ensure continuous monitoring.
  • Participate in Agile and DevSecOps ceremonies, such as stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, with a focus on integrating security into every phase of development.
  • Stay up to date with emerging DevSecOps tools, technologies, and methodologies, incorporating new security testing tools and techniques to enhance security and quality assurance.
  • Assist in the secure deployment and validation of software releases, ensuring compliance with security policies, continuous monitoring, and validation before production releases.

Required:

  • Must hold a CompTIA Security+ certification, demonstrating commitment to security and compliance.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills include:

  • Experience with Agile methodologies

Education/Experience includes:

  • 3+ years Quality Assurance Automation experience

Working Conditions:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Clearance:

This position requires an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
