Job Description

The Program Coordinator for the Office of the Associate Provost for Equity and Inclusion provides general administrative support for the Associate Provost and project coordination for the many faculty/staff professional development and community building events that run year-round. In addition to managing day-to-day operations of the Office, the Coordinator will hire and oversee student workers, and be a partner to other offices and colleagues throughout the college implementing Inclusive Excellence programming. The Coordinator will have some research-related responsibilities to support report, academic, and grant writing activities, and will be responsible for keeping the Office's website updated. The Coordinator will also be part of a restorative conflict resolution team, so a willingness to train and utilize restorative skills throughout all of our work is also important for this role.



Position Responsibilities:


  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the office including assistance with scheduling, website updates, and program-related communications

  • Plan and arrange logistics for faculty/staff professional development offerings; help design workshops; prepare advertising materials and communications

  • Monitor and assist with budget management, including tracking expenditures, monthly budget reporting, and budget preparation for any external funding applications

  • Conduct literature and web searches as needed; Help prepare annual reports, executive reports and briefs, academic articles, and grant writing


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree


Skills and Abilities:

The Coordinator will be a highly organized individual with good attention to detail, and strong writing/editing skills. They should be someone with a strong orientation to social justice work, understand their positionality within the work, and be willing to engage in equity and belonging training to both serve the College and help design new and updated programming for faculty/staff. Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively in situations with interpersonal challenges across differences of viewpoints is also essential. Prior experience with social sciences research is not required, but is a bonus.

  • Accurate and timely completion of work with minimal supervision. Successfully meets multiple and competing project deadlines.

  • Responds graciously and promptly to requests from colleagues, visitors and other members of the Wellesley community, consulting with others as appropriate.

  • Displays warm, courteous demeanor and high level of maturity as a representative of the Office of the Associate Provost for Equity and Inclusion.

  • Exercises high level of discretion, sensitivity, and tact; maintains confidentiality.

This position works 17.5 hours a week and is eligible for benefits. Flexible work options are available. There will be some events to coordinate and attend outside of standard hours, which can be as agreed upon adjusted in advance. Additionally, some remote work days will be possible. We will establish a regular schedule for on-campus and off-campus work days to coordinate with the needs of the Office team.
