We are seeking a skilled PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) Process Engineer with experience in handling Flex PCB's to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, improving production efficiency, and ensuring the quality of our PCBAs in alignment with industry standards. This role is critical to driving innovation and continuous improvement in scaling our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, optimize, and document manufacturing processes for PCB assembly, including SMT (Surface Mount Technology), and reflow soldering.
Design and optimize solder paste stencils, ensuring appropriate aperture sizes and shapes for various components and pad designs.
Set up and maintain SMT printing processes, including printer programming, alignment, and stencil cleaning procedures to achieve high-quality paste deposition.
Evaluate and select appropriate solder pastes (Type 3, Type 4, Type 5, etc.) based on component complexity, pitch, and pad design to ensure optimal solderability and reliability.
Develop fixturing solutions for rigid and flex PCBs, ensuring proper support and alignment during assembly and testing processes.
Drive root cause analysis and lead 8D problem-solving for customer RMAs (Return Material Authorizations), ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented
Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and continuous improvement of PCBAs.
Oversee and maintain process equipment, ensuring they are operating at optimal performance.
Develop and implement automated solutions for inspection processes (e.g., AOI, X-ray) to enhance product quality and reduce defects.
Evaluate and qualify new materials, equipment, and manufacturing techniques to improve process capability and efficiency.
Support new product introductions (NPI) by working closely with R&D and design engineers to ensure seamless transition from prototype to mass production.
Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, J-STD-001) and regulatory requirements.
Provide technical training and support to operators and technicians on process best practices.
