Position: Analyst, Commercial Real Estate Loan Originations,

Location: Greenwich, CT (on-site 4/5 days a week)

Reports To: Head of Real Estate Loan Originations

Status: Exempt - Full Time

Position Description:

As a Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Loan Originations Analyst, you will focus on evaluating and managing the process of securing loans for commercial properties. Your role will involve screening potential investment opportunities, assessing the viability and risks of loan and/or C-PACE applications, ensuring that the underwriting process aligns with Counterpointe's policies and guidelines, and working clients, Counterpointe credit and legal teams and investment commit to facilitate successful loan closures. Here are some key responsibilities and skills for the CRE Loan Originations Analyst:

Responsibilities:

Loan Assessment:
  • Review and analyze loan applications and financial statements of property owners and potential borrowers.
  • Conduct market research to evaluate the value and potential of the property in question.
  • Assess the creditworthiness of borrowers and the feasibility of the business plan and proposed financing.

Financial Analysis:
  • Prepare detailed financial models and projections to support loan decisions.
  • Analyze cash flow, debt service coverage ratios, debt yield, and other financial metrics to determine loan and/or C-PACE terms.

Risk Management:
  • Identify and evaluate risks associated with loan or C-PACE applications, including market, financial, and operational risks, sustainability metrics and certification.
  • Develop strategies to mitigate identified risks and present recommendations to senior management.

Collaboration:
  • Work closely with loan officers, underwriters, and legal teams to ensure all aspects of the loan application are thoroughly reviewed.
  • Coordinate with external parties such as appraisers, environmental consultants, and legal advisors.

Documentation and Compliance:
  • Ensure that all documentation required for loan approval and disbursement is complete and accurate.
  • Verify that loan transactions comply with regulatory requirements and institutional policies.

Client Interaction:
  • Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on loan application status.
  • Address any questions or concerns clients may have throughout the loan process.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in supporting commercial mortgage bridge loans and/or C-PACE assessments for middle market and institutional investors preferred.
  • Ability to understand client goals and objectives, tailoring transactions to meet those goals.
  • Solid understanding of real estate credit and the ability to identify good investment opportunities.
  • Strong analytical skills, detailed oriented and a solid understanding of finance.
  • Outgoing personality with strong presentation skills to effectively communicate financing products to property owners and mortgage bankers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Advanced Excel skills is a must.
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively within a dynamic environment.
