Description: Our client is currently seeking a DESIGN ENGINEER



Position Overview:



Under the general direction of the Engineer Manager, the Design Engineer is responsible for new tooling design, CAM, and support. This role also provides support for other aspects of tube fabrication and assembly, offering analysis and direction to solve quality and process control problems on existing production work. Additionally, the Design Engineer introduces new processes necessary for higher quality and better efficiency.



Hiring Focus:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.


• Minimum two years' experience within a manufacturing environment.


• Preferred experience in metal tube fabrication and welded assemblies.

Knowledge:

• Sound knowledge of engineering theory and manufacturing techniques.


• Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures.


• Must be familiar with 3-D CAD/CAM software (preferably Autodesk Inventor & Feature-CAM).

Skills:

• Ability to bring new, creative ideas to the table.


• Ability to communicate clearly & effectively with those working with you.


• Effective use of time & resources to ensure projects are completed on time. Analyze and solve problems systematically.

Job Duties:

• Complete Project Management:
  
  
  
  
  • Design dies, fixtures, weld jigs, and processes using 3-D CAD.
  
  
  • Create required documentation for build (prints/BOM).
  
  
  • Purchase all necessary materials and components.
  
  
  • Program components for fabrication using 3-D CAM software.
  
  
  • Support fabrication practices such as new cutter implementation.
  
  
  • Support assembly and implementation of tooling.
  
  
  
  


• Support for Tube Fabrication and Assembly:
  
  
  
  
  • Provide support for all other departments when needed.
  
  
  
  


• Problem-Solving for Production and Maintenance:
  
  
  
  
  • Set up machines.
  
  
  • Check parts in production.
  
  
  • Work with outside vendors.
  
  
  • Answer questions from the sales department and product managers.
  
  
  • Assist on sales calls, repair jobs, and customer visits as required.
