Your Role:



This position is a senior technical position within the Microbiology department responsible for microbiology method qualification for new and existing products, microbiology testing, microbiology data review, performing investigations, execution of microbiology study protocols and training/mentoring lesser experienced microbiology analysts.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Develop and execute or supervise the execution of protocols for method qualifications and microbiological studies. This includes the associated summary reports and communication with clients during the method qualification projects.

  • Technical training and mentoring of lesser experienced microbiology personnel on procedures and systems.

  • Develop and supervise special studies/projects applicable to the Microbiology Laboratory.

  • Review Microbiology testing procedures and test data as required.

  • Represent QC Microbiology department as microbiological technical expert on special studies and aseptic assurance and related validations.

  • Responsible for project managing assigned client projects as part of development through Phase III/commercial for microbiology related qualifications and procedures.

  • Support manufacturing process control & process improvement projects.

  • Responsible for adhering to the Environmental, Health and Safety program.




Who You Are:




Minimum Qualifications:





  • Bachelors Degree in Biology, Microbiology or other Life Science discipline.

  • 7+ years of work experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • 5+ years of Quality Control Microbiology experience.




Preferred Qualifications:



  • Masters Degree in Biology or Microbiology.

  • Experience in methodology and scientific research.

  • Experience troubleshooting and finding the root cause for microbiology laboratory failures.

  • Experience designing an investigation plan, execute, summarize, and propose corrective actions for environmental excursion investigations.
