Kirby Building Systems, a proud division of Nucor Buildings Group, is seeking an Accountant. The Accountant position fulfills an integral transactional and reporting function in the Finance Department with a focus on customer service to both internal and external customers.
General Ledger Accounting: Manage and oversee the accuracy of the general ledger.
Assist with Closings:Support the finance team in completing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly closings.
Financial Report Preparation:Prepare financial reports to provide accurate and timely financial data.
Implement and Maintain Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust internal control processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Bank and Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements and balance sheet accounts.
Tax Reporting: Prepare and remit monthly sales tax reports.
Inventory Management:Oversee monthly steel consumption reconciliation, schedule and coordinate material cycle counts, and troubleshoot issues with production leads as necessary.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience with Sales Tax reporting and regulations
Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365
