Position Summary:

The Purchasing Manager will lead the purchasing function at IDD Aerospace in Redmond, WA. This role is pivotal in managing key purchasing metrics and driving continuous improvement. You will collaborate with various teams, including planning, operations, customer service, engineering, and program management. Additionally, you will build and lead a world-class purchasing team, focusing on staffing, training, and talent management while exemplifying integrity, inclusion, and diversity. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude are essential for this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Procurement team, ensuring material availability meets operational needs and customer requirements.
  • Implement and execute the purchasing strategy to enhance business value and productivity.
  • Develop and monitor Purchasing KPIs, including supplier on-time delivery, inventory levels, cost of purchased goods, and purchase order management.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with the plan for every part activity.
  • Continuously improve purchasing processes to achieve better business results.
  • Manage all phases of procurement in alignment with financial goals.
  • Optimize inventory levels through advanced supply processes like VMI, blanket POs, and consigned inventory.
  • Drive cost reductions, improved quality, on-time delivery, and lead-time reductions.
  • Establish standard work procedures and ensure discipline in tactical procurement execution.
  • Build and maintain a competent network of suppliers and address issues impacting performance, quality, and invoice discrepancies.
  • Resolve supply-related issues and escalate them to leadership as needed.
  • Facilitate quick turnaround on RTVs with vendors and ensure customer requirements are communicated effectively to suppliers.
  • Support supplier audits, compliance initiatives, and customer production readiness assessments.

Education / Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Required: Aerospace experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Master Scheduling, Planning, and/or Procurement with increasing financial responsibility.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in leading and developing a Purchasing team.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Experience interacting with C-level executives and making presentations at that level.
  • Hands-on experience managing work transfers.
  • Proven negotiation skills and a track record of driving results within the Supply Chain.

Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong analytical skills and business awareness.
  • Experience with MRP systems.
  • Knowledge of Lean methodology or Green Belt certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with Quality processes and requirements.
  • Proficiency in working with large data sets.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Leadership / Management Skills:
  • Proven experience in building, developing, and managing teams.
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to gain consensus.
  • Effective navigation across the organization and decision-making in complex situations.
  • Experience in evaluating job performance, providing constructive feedback, and handling personnel issues.

Accountability:

This position is subject to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and requires compliance with export control regulations. A "U.S. Person" as defined by Title 22 of the Code of Federal Regulations (C.F.R.) §120.15 is required. This includes U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees.
