Required Experience / Education: • Active RN or LPN license • Certified coder from either AAPC or AHIMA.
NOTE: The candidate is required to achieve and maintain a quality reliability score of 95% to remain eligible for employment for the duration of the project

Responsibilities:
The HEDIS Nurse abstractor is responsible for the review of medical records and documenting critical elements proprietary data entry system.
The Healthcare Effectiveness Data and information Set (HEDIS) Nurse Abstractor works under the direction of the HEDIS Lead and other personnel to review medical records. The HEDIS Abstractor will abstract pertinent medical record data and enter it into a specified data base to support HEDIS reporting and Quality Improvement. • Reviewing medical records to capture appropriately documented measures • Applying appropriate codes to indicate any issues with documented findings. • Follow established procedures for conducting chart abstractions • Enters pertinent data from medical records into database as required by established
abstraction procedures • Support Quality over reads and peer review as necessary • Communicates effectively and professionally • Meet or exceed productivity requirements • Maintain awareness of policies, compliance and regulations impacting day to day
