The payroll analyst has primary responsibility for assisting with all aspects of the weekly, semi-monthly and monthly payrolls using ADP Globalview and Enterprise eTime. This includes reviewing pre-payroll error reports, uploading adjustment templates, some manual entry of pay data and verifying the accuracy of each payroll prior to acceptance by verifying various reports provided by ADP. The payroll analyst also assists in garnishment processing, resolving payroll tax imbalances, processing off-cycle pay adjustments when necessary and responding to inquiries from Human Resource personnel.
Primary Duties
The payroll analyst will process adjustment files weekly and assist in successful, timely and accurate confirmation of payrolls according to the processing schedule and payroll check list
Process various types of imputed income such as relocation, stock options and personal use of company car, to ensure proper year end W2 reporting
Respond to inquiries relating to payroll and payroll systems; is a main point of contact for payroll and HR; has some interaction with key stakeholders and partners
The payroll analyst will assist with activities relating to year-end bonus payments, executive comp payouts and other year-end activities impacting employees
Assist with reconciliation of tax payments and filings completed by ADP as needed
Update the Hourly and Salary Processing Procedures as needed to accurately reflect changes in the processes to ensure both Sarbanes Oxley and internal audit requirements are being met, as well as creating greater efficiency and accuracy in the payroll process
Works closely with the Shared Service Center in Monterrey to ensure all team members are aligned as relates to payroll processing activities
Cross train within the department to learn all aspects of payroll such as tax, garnishments, escheatment's and creating reports to ensure adequate back up for all team members
Job Specifications / Requirements
Degree in business related discipline (Business, Accounting, Finance, HR, etc.), or a minimum of 4 to 7 years in Payroll/Tax related positions
Basic knowledge of payroll tax and garnishment processing
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment, with little supervision
Must be a customer-focused with an emphasis on quality, detail and accuracy
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Excellent English communication skills - Written, verbal and interpersonal
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
