Senior Product Engineer - Chiller Products

Location: Homestead, Florida

Type: Full-time, In-office

Contract: Permanent

Pay Range: Starting at $120,000, depending on experience

General Summary

The Senior Product Engineer for Chiller Products will oversee and guide a team in the development and improvement of chiller products, ensuring adherence to HVAC industry standards and customer requirements. The role requires strong technical expertise in chiller equipment and HVAC systems, as well as leadership capabilities to manage the engineering process and technical support for manufacturing and sales teams.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a team of engineers in product design, development, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensure chiller products meet HVAC industry standards, customer requirements, and sound engineering principles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Electrical, Control, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to production and product manufacturing.
  • Promote product quality, safety, and performance.
  • Lead product certification and compliance activities, including AHRI and ETL certifications.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including drawings, part specifications, procedures, bills of materials, and user manuals.
  • Provide technical support to internal teams and external customers.
  • Assist in sourcing components and raw materials, working closely with the Purchasing Department.
  • Provide proposals and technical solutions based on customer requirements, unit selection, and special features.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in air-cooled, water-cooled, screw, centrifugal compressors, and HVAC system design and manufacturing.
  • Expertise in oil-less magnetic compressors and system piping, condenser/evaporator design, and safety codes is a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems, applications, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Experience with engineering software such as Solidworks, Inventor, AutoCAD, and FEA is an advantage.

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Professional Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
