Job Summary

The Reachback IO Planner shall review, develop, and maintain plans, operations, orders, and assessments supporting 1st IO operations. The Reachback IO Planner shall participate in, and contribute to, planning teams, working groups, and events; write reports and give briefs; coordinate and synchronize Information Operations related capabilities; and promote Information Operations interoperability among Joint, Army, and other military service and government organizations and agencies in support of Command and supported unit missions. As necessary, shall review, make recommendations to, and support the development of doctrine, organization, training, material, leadership and education, personnel, and facilities (DOTMLPF) change recommendations, requirements, concept development, and doctrine, in accordance with all published and verbal regulations, guidance, and policy.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop Operational Concepts, synchronization matrixes, supporting lines of efforts, and courses of action to support the desired effects and objectives of supported units and organizations.
  • Review and provide input to Combatant Command, Army Service Component Command, and higher headquarters plans, and orders for feasibility, compatibility, effectiveness, or expected results.
  • Provide tailored, all-source analysis support in response to external or Command internal requests for information or products related to Information Operations. Examples include input to information or intelligence preparation of the environment products, country overviews, briefings, information papers, support to working groups, and other products or briefs requested by the Government.
  • Plan and support the integration of information operations and supporting information related capabilities into Joint and Service component exercises, experiments, and training events.
  • Maintain situational awareness of diplomatic, military, social, economic, intelligence, infrastructure, scientific, and technical developments within assigned areas to support analysis of the information environment of Combatant Command areas of responsibility.
  • Develop and maintain liaison with counterparts throughout the Joint and National Intelligence community and in other agencies and organizations.
  • Utilize tools, databases, and websites to collect and analyze data and information. Tools may include Analyst Notebook, Palantir, classified databases, Intelink, and/or publicly available information systems.
  • Review Intelligence products for their relevance to tasked missions or projects and make recommendations for refined products as necessary.
  • Prepare reports for quality control/assurance and dissemination by the Government.
  • Ensure products are valid and properly maintained on designated websites and networks.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications include:
  • Formal Information Operations (IO) or Information Related Capability (IRC) training. IRCs include Psychological Operations (PSYOP) / Military Information Support Operations (MISO), Combat Camera (COMCAM), Civil Affairs (CA), Public Affairs (PA), Electronic Warfare (EW), Cyber Electro-Magnetic Activities (CEMA), or Special Technical Operations (STO).
  • A Bachelor's or higher degree and 3+ years of experience with IO or an IRC, or a Highschool Diploma or higher and 7+ years of experience with IO or an IRC.
  • Experience in deliberate operations planning (Current Operations or Future Operations or Plans)
  • TS/SCI Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience as an IO Planner or on a Field Support Team
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
